The postal house and the postal bird next to me

It’s Newman. It’s a bird. It’s postal bird! I rarely see my neighbor, the postal bird. It is always out. I rarely see customers coming to the post office, either. But I know the mail comes. You see that, child, you see him? Beyond that wired fence lies a lot of uncertainty. The uncertainty you see is not because of not knowing what is going on. The uncertainty on the other side of that fence exists because of realizing what is going on, and what may be going on. He defines the confusion that can haunt someone because they want to think from scratch.

I turned my head a bit to hear the voice far behind me say that. It was the voice of an old man. I could not see any human around to associate with the voice I was hearing. It was not windy, nor was it hot. There was no wind at all, and the temperature was cool enough to forget about the sun and to think of whether or not I wanted to make the effort to try to cover myself. » Read more after the jump →

Light in the digit night

It sits there quietly, in the exact place that I left it. It is waiting for my attention. It is waiting for me to do something through it. It keeps listening to different signals from the nearby towers. It is always there to let me know if someone wishes to talk to me. If someone sends me a text message. Or if someone sends me a picture message. Or if someone sends me an e-mail.

If I forget to tell it to sleep, it sits there quietly, all attentive and bright, until I fall asleep. Only after a few minutes does it stop shining in order to rest also. Its brain keeps functioning all the time, even when it is turned off. It is working all the time, slowly watching its battery run out of life slowly. It looks forward to being recharged, though most of the time it also looks forward to using all the recharged energy too.

Here it is. Some say it is a distraction. Some say it is powerful. Some say it is useful. Some it is a hype.

I say it just wants to enjoy the night on its own.
